BIOGRAPHY

Orhan Yildiz was born in Samsun,Turkey.He began his vocal studies at the Mersin Conservatory under the tutelage of the Polish tenor Roman Werlinski.

in the 2023/24 season, he will sing Dandini (La Cenerentola),Giorgio Germont(La Traviata),Dieter Urban( Die letzte Verschwörung ),Herr Fluth( Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor), all at the Volksoper in Vienna.

Celebrated for his warm and virile baritone voice and his compelling acting,Orhan Yildiz has captivated the Viennese audiences as an ensemble member of the Wiener Staatsoper from 2016-2020 in roles as Dandini( La Cenerentola), Belcore(Elisir d'Amore),Valentin(Faust),Marcello( La Boheme),Taddeo(L'italiana in Algeri),Silvio( I Pagliacci),Malatesta(Don Pasquale),Paolo( Simon Boccanegra)

Recently Orhan Yildiz has been focussing on the Verdian repertoire, have debuted the role of Ford in Falstaff at Malmö Opera in Sweden, Amonasro in Aida at Danish National Opera as well as with Staatstheater Braunschweig,Giorgio Germont at Volkoper in Vienna. in the future seasons he will be adding more Verdian roles to his repertoire,including Renato( Un ball in maschera), Rodrigo Marchese di Posa( Don Carlo)

Yildiz is a prize winner of the 2012 Francesco Vinas Competition in Barcelona,the 2004 Belvedere competition in Vienna and 2002 Siemens singing competition in Istanbul and was a finalist of the Operalia Competition at 2009.

As a guest soloist, he performed Maruccio(Tiefland by Eugene d'Albert) at the Theatre du Capitola de Toulouse under the baton of Claus Peter Flor, Marcello ( La Boheme)at the Staatsoper Hamburg with Stefano Ranzani,at the Opera Nacional de Chile in Santiago as Taddeo(L'italiana in Algeri),Guglielmo( Cosi fan tutte) and as Bill( Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny)

From 2010-2016 he was a member of the ensemble of Staatstheater Braunschweig upon the invitation of music director Alexander Joel. His performed roles include Escamillo( Carmen),Giorgio Germont(La Traviata),Ford(Falstaff),Marcello(La Boheme)Ping( Turandot), the title role in Don Giovanni,il Conte Almaviva ( Le nozze di Figaro),Figaro(Il Barber di Siviglia),Heathcliff( Wuthering Heights) and Klingsor( Parsifal) among numerous other roles he sang while in Braunschweig.
